What is an EPC?

Energy Performance Certificates (EPCs) are a requirement for every property in the UK. These certificates are an assessment of how efficiently a house manages its energy usage. EPCs assign a grade on a scale from A to G, with A representing the highest energy-efficient performance and G representing lower efficiency. Your home’s EPC grade indicates to you and others how energy efficient your home is in its current state. Improving your home’s EPC rating can help you save money on your energy bills, lower your home’s environmental impact, and may even enhance your property’s overall value.

Listed below are the types of measures The Energy Experts help with that will be covered under ECO4 funding for homes.

Air Source Heat Pumps

Air source heat pumps offer an excellent, energy-efficient solution for both heating your home and water. They are not only easy to maintain but also contribute to reducing your heating expenses and lowering your environmental impact. The process involves extracting heat from the outdoor air, even in colder conditions, at the location of the pump. This heat is then compressed to elevate its temperature and used to then heat your home by heating your radiators and providing hot water.

External Wall Insulation

A lot of homes that were built before 1920 feature solid walls, which tend to experience up to double the heat loss compared to those with contemporary cavity walls. Our solution involves the addition of two layers of insulation added on to the exterior of your home. The initial layer ensures optimal warmth retention, while the outer layer offers protection against the elements and an aesthetically pleasing appearance for your property.

Underfloor Insulation

Insulating the space beneath the floors in your home can prevent heat from escaping. This ensures that the heat you create stays within the home, helping you lower the energy needed to maintain warmth. This process not only enhances your home’s warmth and comfort but also minimises any disruption to your living space once completed.

Cavity Wall Insulation

One of the most efficient ways to reduce heat loss in your home is cavity wall insulation. This process is straightforward and could lead to considerable savings on your home’s energy expenses. The process involves creating a small openings in the exterior walls of your home and using specialised equipment to inject insulating material into the wall cavity.

Loft Insulation

Another significant source of heat loss within a house is the loft or roof space. Insulating your loft or roof area is an efficient strategy to avoid energy costs by preventing heat from escaping through your roof. This insulation not only maintains a warmer home during winter but also ensures a cooler one during the summer months.
